Ken is now retired, having, most recently, owned a picture framing and print selling business in Perth. Originally from Glasgow, he started his working life in shipbuilding, supported by an honours degree in Naval Architecture. He then moved to an international firm of management consultants and it was there that he developed an interest in things international. He spent 14 months in Ghana as part of a small team working to improve management effectiveness in a state holding company with 16 operating divisions.
In the years since then, Ken has travelled in Kenya, Namibia, South Africa, Guyana and North America. He joined the Rotary Club of Kinross and District in 1995 and became club president in 2005, having served as convener of several club committees including International. In 2003, Ken was appointed District International Chair, a post which he held for the 2 years immediately before taking up the club presidential post.
