Alistair is a former senior Police Officer with Grampain Police serving mostly in the CID but for last 6 years of his 30 years service had a Scottish wide remit for emergency contingencies planning, following the impetus in this field which was caused by Piper Alpha and Lockerbie enquiries. He thereafter was employed as a security manager with William Wilson Ltd, Building Merchants before taking (early!) retirement in 2004. He now does various voluntary work.
Alistair joined The Rotary Club of Aberdeen in 1994 and was President there in 1999/2000. Has served as chair of various committees and taken a special interest in International including Rotary Mission Challenge to Aberdeen, Sierra Leon.
He is presently the Health and Safety Officer (and Protection Officer) for his Club.
