I first became involved with website design about nine years ago when it became apparent that the internet was a virtually free place to advertise one's services to the whole world and today our wedding photography business attracts client from all over the world who come to the North of Scotland to be married. The first wedding photography websites have now let to a thriving internet services business with about 90 clients and 120 or so websites.
The brief for the redesign of this website was: ease of use, simplicity of navigation and integration of the mailbox and news websites. Through the use of I-frame technology this has been achieved and the framework of the site is almost complete. The same navigation buttons are on every page and the mailbox system, now rebranded as TODAY IN 1010, has been further developed and is integrated into the core of the site. Likewise the news pages and the District Governor's blog and calendar have also been integrated. These features are considered to be unique in RIBI.
There is still much work to be completed and information to be added but with the unstinting help of the Communications Chair James Martin this will be completed as soon as possible.
The Committee aims to develop our District Website in such a way that Rotary District 1010 Scotland North will be seen to be trailblazing and leading the way in the UK. |
